To all of my many many friends and family: I feel so blessed to have so many friends. I want to thank everybody for their prayers that helped pull me through this...and the messages, cards, and flowers. It's been a battle for the last few days, but I think that I am tough enough to pull it off. I have one more surgery to go. The surgery I had on Saturday I came out swinging and tried to whip all the nurses and everyone else around me. Needless to say there were more of them, and they restrained me. Everyday is a progress. They put purple stuff in my veins today, so now I guess I am going to be a purple person. The surgery on Friday they are going to fix my left ankle (compound fracture). I appreciate everyone that is taking care of all of my responsibilities. It sounds like everybody has just jumped in. You never know how much I appreciate it. It means so much to me. I am fortunate that I am here with my family. Chad Chuck and Stephanie were so smart to put this website together so that everyone could keep up with me, and they will keep everyone posted until I am able to email you myself. I am planning on seeing everyone back on the ranch this summer. And yes Carolyn I will still have a class to teach you how to bake my pies. I am sorry that I missed some of the folks that came by to see me yesterday. Just keep the prayers coming, I love all of you, and I will see you soon!!!! Shorty (typed by Stephanie)

Dear Ora Pearl, it is good to read your message to everyone. I know this is a very hard time for you now, but as you say your are strong and will get through with flying colors (purple too)! Shortness, just know that many, many folks are in prayer for you and God answers prayers! He will carry you through this and make you better for all you endure. I have posted a couple of other messages for you but not sure if I am doing everything right to get them to you! Hope you received them. Blessings to your family and medical team! We love you, Laura & Tim Carlton

Dear Shorty, It brings us joy to have a message straight from the "horse's mouth"!!! Pie? Did someone say "pie"? Put the Tedfords down for one and will exercise harder so we can have the sugars! Glad you are doing better...the nurses will have to watch that right upper cut or left jab. Love you, Walt and Heather

Shorty--So wonderful to have a message FROM you--what a great family you have to set up this Web Site so we can all feel closer to you!!! So glad to hear you could be moved from ICU--the first step (and you will have one) to getting back to the ranch!!! Bruce and I miss you and pray every night that you are going to have a restful sleep and a better tomorrow! You have your very own candle I keep burning for you--(you know how us Catholics love our candles!) And we will definitely bake our pies--cause remember "pie fixes everything!" Love, love, love you! Carolyn and Bruce

Hi Shorty!
This weekend I was making a reservation at the Conejos Ranch for Charles, the kids and I, and they told me about the accident. (BTW, we rented The Homestead from 7/31 to 8/6). I sure do hope you'll be up and about by then because we will definitely miss you if you're not there!!!! I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this, but I know you're a spunky fighter and you'll get through it with flying colors. Give 'em hell, Ms. Fry! You're in our thoughts and prayers. Get better soon.
Big Hugs, Peggy Norton
P.S., Let me know where you're currently "residing" here in Denver. I'd love to come visit you. Have Steph email me at whipitsista@aol.com

More words from the mouth of Shorty: New Sign in Rehab now: "Watch out for wild woman driving a wheel chair!" Yep, that's me!!!! I am so excited that I am conquering another phase of this rehab. My granddaughter Stephanie will be here next week to help while I am at Rhonda's recovering. The word on the street is that I will be out of the here on the 16th. Yippee! Missy, my lap dog will be joining me to help me with rehab. She is my secret ingredient to recovery. Things are moving real fast now, and if you all keep up the cards and blogs and I keep a good sense of humor, I will be back at the ranch before you know it. Thanks again for your prayers & support over the past few weeks. Love ya, Shorty
